Why I didn't choose ONE thing to brand myself with...

And how I made my multi-passions WORK inside my personal brand.

When you're building your personal brand online, a lot of people will tell you to choose one thing.

Even more people will tell you to choose one thing that ensures you'll make money: Usually the thing you're not the most excited about.

Because the thing you're most excited about "doesn't really make money"...

For me, this was:

  • Personal branding: Money maker

  • Femininity: Sort of money maker

  • Jesus: "Money and Jesus don't go together" ....lies

I'm here to bust this BS (belief system) right now, today.

I want you to walk away from today's newsletter feeling confident that you get to talk about the things that light you up, and you get to talk about all of them...and still create a cohesive, strong, influential brand that changes peoples' lives.

Let's dive in…

How to build a personal brand honoring your multi-faceted personality...

Step 1: You are the brand, focus on 3 things that light you up.

Ladies, let's get one thing straight: you are the brand. Not your Instagram feed, not your logo, but you. Your brand is the impression you leave on people, the way you make them feel, and the belief you instill in them. The best way to start is by focusing on 3 things that truly light you up. These are the things that make your heart sing, that you could talk about for hours without getting bored. They're the things that make you, you. And guess what? They're going to be the foundation of your brand.

Step 2: Write a list of things you know you can teach or talk about within each of those three things.

Now that you've identified your three passions, it's time to get specific. What can you teach or talk about within each of these areas? Don't worry about being an expert. Remember, there's always someone out there who knows less than you do and could benefit from your knowledge. So, jot down a list of topics for each of your three passions. This will serve as your content pillars, guiding you as you share your brand with the world.

I'll share a few examples of mine. With each of these, you can imagine that I can create tons of pieces of content within each of these smaller topics:

  1. Personal branding:

    1. Storytelling

    2. Content creation

    3. Creating your offer

    4. Becoming visible

    5. Building your network

    6. Monetizing your gifts

  2. Femininity:

    1. Self value

    2. Receiving

    3. Feminine communication

    4. Feeling beautiful

    5. Relationships

    6. Community

    7. Vibrant health

  3. Self-awareness:

    1. Language

    2. Inner work and healing

    3. Habits and routines

    4. Lifestyle design

    5. Money mindset

    6. Somatic intelligence

    7. Christ, Bible and spirituality

Step 3: Allow this new list to be the guideline for how you talk about your brand, share your life, and create content.

Your list is more than just a collection of potential blog posts or Instagram captions. It's your brand's guiding star. It's the lens through which you'll share your life and create content. It's the framework that will help you stay true to yourself and your brand. So, use it as a guide, but don't be afraid to let it evolve as you do. After all, your brand should be as dynamic and multi-faceted as you are.

Bad thinking habits to break starting now...

"Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,"

– 2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV

We all have them - those pesky negative thoughts that sneak into our minds, casting doubt on our abilities and undermining our confidence.

These bad thinking habits can be a major roadblock on our journey to building our brand that truly reflects who we are. Let's dive into some common habits that we need to break...

  1. This topic isn't good enough to talk about, it wont help anyone

Ladies, we've all been there. You have a topic you're passionate about, but that nagging voice in your head tells you it's not "good enough". Here's the truth: if it lights you up, it's good enough. Your passion is infectious, and it will resonate with others. Remember, even if your insights help just one person, it's worth it. So, let's silence that inner critic and start sharing what we love.

  2. I don't know enough to start talking about this topic yet

The fear of not knowing enough can be paralyzing, but let's flip the script. You don't have to be an expert to start sharing your knowledge. In fact, your journey of learning and growth can be incredibly inspiring to others. So, don't wait until you're an "expert". Start where you are, share what you know, and embrace the journey of continuous learning.

  3. This one post doesn't matter in the overall building of my brand

It's easy to feel like a single post is just a drop in the ocean. But remember, every drop contributes to the ocean's vastness. Each post is a piece of the puzzle that makes up your brand. It's an opportunity to share your voice, your story, and your passion. So, don't underestimate the power of a single post. It could be the one that resonates with someone, changes their perspective, or even changes their life.

  4. No one is listening to what I have to say

It can feel like you're shouting into the void sometimes, but trust me, your voice is being heard. Even if you can't see it, your words are reaching people. They're sparking thoughts, inspiring action, and making a difference. So, keep speaking your truth. People are listening, even in rooms you're not in yet.

Good thinking habits to create starting now...

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

– Romans 12:2 NKJV

As we journey towards building our brands, it's important that we create good thinking habits. These habits can empower us, boost our confidence, and help us stay true to our authentic selves. Let's dive into some of these habits that we should start cultivating right now...

  1. I know this topic can help at least 1 person, I'm happy with that

Let's start with a simple truth: if your message, your story, or your advice can help even one person, it's absolutely worth sharing. You never know whose life you might touch or what difference you might make. So, don't hold back. Share your knowledge, your experiences, and your passion. Because even if it helps just one person, you've made a difference. And that's something to be proud of.

  2. Teach what you know, beginners are just as valuable as intermediates

We often think we need to be experts to start teaching or sharing. But the truth is, beginners have so much to offer. Your fresh perspective, your journey of learning, your triumphs and challenges - these are all incredibly valuable. So, don't wait until you're an "expert". Start sharing what you know now. Because your journey, your insights, and your authenticity can inspire and help others in ways you can't even imagine.

  3. This one post will live on forever and the right people will find it at the right time

In the digital world, your words have a life of their own. That one post you're working on? It could be the beacon of hope, the spark of inspiration, or the source of wisdom someone needs at just the right moment. So, don't underestimate the power of your words. They have the potential to reach and impact people for years to come. So, keep sharing, keep inspiring, and keep making a difference.

  4. People are mentioning my name in rooms I don't even know about yet

This is the power of personal branding. When you share your authentic self, your passion, and your knowledge, you're not just building a brand. You're creating a ripple effect. Your name, your brand, and your message are reaching people and places you're not even aware of. So, keep shining your light. Because people are talking about you, learning from you, and being inspired by you, even in rooms you're not in yet.

What are your gifts?

The personal branding journey rewards those who spend the most time learning who they are, what their gifts are, and the value it brings to others lives when shared.

Although you're here to be of service to others, a healthy amount of self discovery and reflection (and celebration of your amazing gifts) is needed in order to build a brand that honors all parts of you.

See you babes next Saturday,

Lauren
